Hygen Power has delivered a 5MW IGBT-based two-stage hydrogen rectifier to a green hydrogen production facility. The project, developed by an energy utility, integrates wind power with grid support to produce renewable hydrogen for industrial use.
The Hygen DC power supply series rectifier features an AC/DC+DC/DC topology, providing 0-700V DC output with THDi ≤3% and response time under 100ms. These characteristics enable the power supply to handle rapid fluctuations from wind turbines while maintaining a stable DC output for a 5MW PEM electrolyzer. The unit is 100% liquid-cooled with IP54 protection, designed for coastal environments with high humidity and salt spray.
On-site testing confirmed that all performance parameters, including harmonic distortion and dynamic response, exceeded project specifications. The project is expected to commence commercial operation in the third quarter, producing approximately 2,000 tons of green hydrogen annually. Hygen Power has also signed a framework agreement to supply additional units for future project phases.
